Initial Concept & Design

The Community Village is being developed by Golden Bricks Ltd. The property developers have a track record of completed investment portfolios including luxury hotel, The Ladbrooke in Digbeth, Birmingham. This current proposed initial design concept has been designed by Venturi Architects, well known for innovation and cutting edge design.

The Community Village will comprise 1, 2 and 3 bed modern apartments. This new residential community will comprise 83 (1-3-bed) homes over six storeys, including 50% affordable housing. The proposed development will give priority to energy efficient design.

The architects when planning the site have taken into account factors such as environmental, biodiversity of the plots of land, heritage factors – to ensure that the final design is compliant with legislative provisions. There has also been an appraisal of ecological considerations and appraisal. The development will provide a haven for increase in biodiversity because of the architectural design which includes green spaces.

Sustainability factors include sustainable drainage and recycling facilities. Communal terraces and courtyards will be landscaped. The planters will form an integrated irrigation and drainage system for recycling of graywater. There are also sustainable transport routes and access-ways including dedicated cycle parking spaces.

The aesthetically pleasing exterior facade of the Community Village blends seamlessly, into the Jewellery Quarter’s Industrial and Architectural legacy and current status as a world leader in fine jewellery makers. There will be a ratio of affordable housing in the Village, Retail opportunities and parking for residents.

Other notable features of the Community Village include:

  • 50% affordability – tenure and mix to be decided.

  • To be built in red brick with red aluminium window frames

Concept & Design

Golden Bricks Estate Ltd is excited to launch its plans for a Community of 83 (Eighty-Three) Residential luxury apartments spread over 6 (six) levels with a ratio of affordable housing. The Development will also provide associated access and parking to Residents.

At the same time, the developer Golden Bricks Ltd will carry out restoration and preservation work on land at Albion Place, a Georgian building comprising 2 floors (see photo below), to retain the cultural heritage of the building.
